You can transfer you domain when it its close to expiring as long as the transfer completes before the domains expires.
Assuming there are no issues or locks on the domain, the transfer will typically auto complete in 5 days. However, you can reach out to your current registrar and ask them to manually approve the transfer which will allow it to complete in just a few hours.
Most domains have a 60 day lock auto placed on them when they are registered, transferred or the WHOIS registrant is updated. You will be able to transfer the domain to Sav after 60 days have passed.
